How far did Jesus go into poverty in the spiritual realm?

In the spiritual realm, Jesus went far deeper than material poverty—into absolute poverty. Though He was in the form of God and equal with God because He was God, He became poor for our sakes, a descent beyond human comprehension, as Philippians 2:6–7 declares.

Les explains that although Christ possessed all the wealth of the universe, yet for the sake of the carnal believers of Corinth and every believer from wherever they may come, He became poor. In the material realm He illustrated this by saying foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man had no place to lay His head; He had no wealthy home to return to. But that was only the material realm. In the spiritual realm He went far, far deeper into absolute poverty, as Philippians 2:6–7 shows: Christ Jesus, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, because He was God. Verse 7 then begins to describe Him as the God of creation.
