Les Feldick Bible Study

What is our gospel based on — Jesus' earthly ministry or what was revealed after His resurrection?

Our gospel rests on what was revealed after Christ's resurrection and ascension, not on Jesus' earthly ministry. The crucified and resurrected Christ is the object of our faith, though He is the same person. Paul, apostle to the Gentiles, emphasized this shift from Israel to the whole world.

Les teaches that it was the crucified and resurrected Christ who becomes the object of our faith, not the Jesus of Nazareth in His earthly ministry, although He is one and the same person. He constantly emphasizes that our gospel is based on that which was revealed after His resurrection and ascension. Les also points to Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, who constantly emphasized that Christ did not now just deal with Israel, but the gospel had now gone to the whole world. This follows the context of 2 Corinthians, where the love of Christ constrains us because One died for all, and all were dead in Adam.
