What happens at the Great White Throne when a person's name is not found in the Book of Life?

At the Great White Throne, when a person’s name is not in the Book of Life, Christ turns to the record of their life. The books are opened, and the dead are judged out of what was written according to their works. It is too late to claim the cross; they face their sins as unbelievers.

Les explains that the books were opened, and the other book, singular, is the Book of Life. When it is evident that the lost person’s name is not in the Book of Life, Christ turns to the books, the record of their life here on earth, and the dead are judged out of those things written in the books according to their deeds. Because they did not believe the Gospel, they can no longer claim that they were paid for with the blood of the cross; it is too late. Les uses the illustration of Congress appropriating money: the work of the cross sits totally paid for and ready for anyone to draw on by believing, but if they will not believe, they must face their sins as an unbeliever at the Great White Throne.

Revelation 20:12

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
