Who are we supposed to tell that the cross has made reconciliation with God possible?
Believers are to tell a lost world, their neighbors, friends, and loved ones that the work of the cross has made reconciliation with God possible for them too. They can close the gap and need not face eternity separated from a holy God, because everything has been done to bring them to that place of reconciliation.
Les teaches that the ministry of reconciliation has been committed to believers. He explains that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself and not imputing their trespasses unto them. Therefore, believers are to let a lost world know everything already done on their behalf. They tell neighbors, friends, and loved ones that the work of the cross has made reconciliation possible; they can close the gap and no longer face eternity separated from a holy God. Les adds that everything has been done to bring them to that place of reconciliation, and it is a waste to think God paid it all but we must add something of our own.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
