When did God make reconciliation possible, according to 2 Corinthians 5?
God made reconciliation possible when Christ died. As Paul brings out in 2 Corinthians 5, that work of the cross accomplished reconciliation, and now the ministry of reconciliation declares that the lost world has already been reconciled—they need only believe it, and God will reckon them as reconciled.
Les explains that Daniel's prophecy of 490 years included making reconciliation for iniquity, which was accomplished in the work of the cross. When Christ died, reconciliation was made possible, as Paul brings out in 2 Corinthians 5: 'be ye reconciled to God.' Now we have the ministry of reconciliation, telling a lost world they have already been reconciled. It is all accomplished. Believe it, and God will reckon you as reconciled. Sin was defeated at the cross, and Satan was utterly defeated; his power has been broken for the believer as a result of the cross.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
