Will God allow people to add to what He has done for salvation?
No. The Bible indicates God will not stand for any person to add to what He has done for salvation. If He has done everything needed and someone says they must do this or that, that is against His nature and makes Him a liar. Justification comes to the one who believes in Jesus.
Les explains that God is not going to stand for any human being to add to what He has done for salvation. Such addition is against His nature and would make Him a liar, because if He says He has done everything needed for salvation and a person says they must do this or that, they are adding to His finished work. Les says he does not know how much God will allow and hopes it is not that serious, but he does not think God can bend. On the basis of God's Word, a person is on thin ice if they say they must do such and such to have salvation, because justification comes to the one who believes in Jesus. Paul speaks of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, and reconciliation means God does whatever the sinner needs to bring him back to Himself. Reconciled believers then have a ministry of reconciliation.
