How are past sins remitted according to Romans 3:25?

According to Romans 3:25, past sins are remitted through faith in His blood. Sinners are justified freely by God's grace, not by works, through the redemption in Christ Jesus. God set Christ forth as a propitiation, declaring His righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed, through the forbearance of God.

Les explains that this remission is not by anything we do; it is by God's grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus. Redemption is the process of paying the price and buying something back. God set Christ forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, because the Creator Himself required a blood payment for men's sin debt. Through faith in His blood, God declares His righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed, through His forbearance. Verse 26 adds that Christ is just and absolutely fair and is the justifier of those who believe, and nothing can be added to it.
