How does Christ become our propitiation according to Romans 3:25?

Scripture teaches that Christ becomes our propitiation through faith in His blood—not through His life or His three years of exemplary miracle working. Through faith in His blood, God declares His righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God.

Les teaches that propitiation is not a word to stumble over and hurry past; it is perhaps the most inclusive one word in the whole New Testament. Christ is our propitiation, and He becomes so by faith—through faith in His blood, not His life and not His three years of exemplary miracle working. Through faith in His blood, God declares His righteousness, not ours, for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God. Verse 26 adds that Christ, the propitiator, might be just—fair—and that it is to him that believeth. Les stresses that believing is faith, and faith is believing; you cannot escape it.
