What is the first thing you come to as you move toward the tent in the tabernacle?
The first object encountered when moving inward toward the small tent in the middle of the tabernacle is the brazen altar. After entering through the outer gate, one comes to this altar before reaching the tent itself. It is the initial fixture in the approach to the tabernacle's central tent.
Les explains that as you move in toward the little tent that sits in the middle, the first thing you would come to is the brazen altar. Before reaching that point, the tabernacle courtyard was enclosed by a white linen fence, nine feet tall, depicting the righteousness of Christ and of God, which kept the common person from looking in on the things of God. Coming around to the east, there was a gate thirty feet wide, made of a curtain of fine linen in four colors: blue, speaking of Christ's heavenly origin; purple, speaking of His royalty; red, speaking of His sacrifice; and pure white, speaking of His righteousness and holiness. After passing through that gate and moving inward, the brazen altar is the first object encountered.
