What is the first thing you come to when entering the tabernacle courtyard?

After entering through the tabernacle courtyard gate, the first object encountered is the brazen altar. It stood before the small tent in the middle, so anyone moving inward from the outer linen fence would come to it before reaching the tabernacle structure itself.

Les explains that the tabernacle courtyard was enclosed by a white linen fence and entered through a gate on the east side, thirty feet wide. That gate curtain was made of fine linen in four colors—blue, purple, red, and white—depicting Christ. As a person moved inward toward the small tent in the middle, the first thing they would come to was the brazen altar.
