How many days a week do we need the cleansing and feeding of the Word?
The cleansing and feeding of the Word are needed seven days a week. Believers should not rely only on Sunday services or eat once a day or once a week; they must saturate themselves in Scripture constantly, confessing sins as recognized, because 1 John 1 promises forgiveness and cleansing.
Les teaches that today cleansing and feeding do not come through foot washing but by saturating ourselves in the book. It is not enough to get it from one hour on Sunday morning, or even two services on Sunday morning and Sunday evening. The cleansing aspect and the feeding aspect of the Word are needed seven days a week, not once a day or once a week. You cleanse constantly, and we must approach the spiritual the same way. As soon as we recognize a sin or failure, God wants confession, not begging forgiveness, since we have already been forgiven. First John 1 says if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Les also illustrates this with the priest going from the brazen altar to the laver of cleansing, washing his hands and feet before the daily service.
