Why is the booklet offered free to some people?
It is offered free to people who cannot afford the suggested five-dollar cost, especially younger couples on tight budgets. They only need to write and ask for it, while those able to give five dollars or more help sustain the ministry's budget.
Les explains that the booklet is a transcription of the first twelve half-hour lessons, corresponding to the first six-hour tape. He says they will offer it free if people write and ask for it. However, because it costs the ministry about five dollars, they ask those who can afford it to send five dollars or more. But they recognize that many, especially younger couples on tight budgets, cannot spare five dollars, so they offer it free to those who simply write and ask. Les trusts that those who can afford to give will not break the ministry's budget. He notes the Lord has been good, they have expanded, are now on satellite, and their budget stays in the black without going into the red, though they have no big surplus. So they want to make people aware the booklet is available and will send it to anyone who writes.
