What was God giving Israel at Sinai after the Ten Commandments?

After the Ten Commandments at Sinai, God gave Israel civil laws and then the ecclesiastical law that established their tabernacle worship. This law provided the structure for a tent, or tabernacle, which was temporary, as God prepared the nation of Israel.

Les explains that God was preparing the nation of Israel, several million strong, gathered around Mount Sinai. They had been given the law, the Ten Commandments. God had already begun to give them a certain amount of the civil law in the intervening chapters. Now He was getting ready to set up the ecclesiastical part of the law, which establishes their temple worship. This would be a tabernacle—a tent—which is temporary.
