As a child of God, what is our responsibility toward the Ten Commandments if we are bound to fail?

Though children of God are under grace, not law, and will fail, the Ten Commandments are not useless. They remain basic even in the age of grace, part of our social fabric. Our responsibility is to respond to them by God's grace, loving God and neighbor, and defrauding no one.

Les teaches that believers are not under law but under grace, yet he does not throw the law out as useless. It is basic even in the age of grace. Every child of God will fail, but by God's grace we are to respond to the Ten Commandments, which are part and parcel of our social fabric. Jesus summarized them into two great areas of human relationships: man with his God and man with his fellow man. The first is to love the Lord thy God; the others deal with home, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Paul then writes in Romans 13:8, "O no man"--better translated "defraud"--defraud no man anything.
