Would a young man who has a girl's highest good in mind lead her into immorality?

No. The love Paul describes is not erotic or Hollywood love; it seeks the other person's highest good. If a young man has a girl's highest good in mind, he would not try to bring her into an immoral state. Such a motive excludes immorality.

Les teaches that the love Paul is talking about is not erotic love or Hollywood's idea of love, but a love that seeks the other person's highest good. He says this is the best definition of love he has ever come across. Les applies it to young people courting and dating: if they kept that uppermost in mind, we would not be in the moral shambles we are in today. If a young man dating a lovely little girl had her highest good on his mind, he would not try to bring her into an immoral state. Les also applies it to husbands and wives, and neighbors with neighbors: as long as we always attempt to do the other person's highest good, Paul says we are fulfilling the whole law. Les notes this cannot be done simply on the basis of commanding, because we never really grow up.
