What does Acts 3:26 say God sent Jesus to do for the Jews?

Acts 3:26 states that God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent Him first to the Jews to bless them by turning every one of them away from their iniquities. This blessing involved turning each individual from their sins.

In Acts 3:25, Peter tells the Jews they are the children of the prophets and of the covenant God made with Abraham, that in his seed all kindreds of the earth would be blessed. Then verse 26 says, "Unto you first, God, having raised up his son Jesus, sent him to bless you in turning every one of you away from his iniquities." Les teaches this was God's intent that Israel, now that the atoning work was done, Jesus was raised from the dead and ascended according to Psalms 110:1, was in a position to accept their King if they would believe. God made a valid offer, though He knew they would not accept it.
