What did God promise in the covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

God's master covenant with Abraham, repeated to Isaac and Jacob, promised that Israel would become a great nation of people, dwell in their own land, and one day have God as their king and government. It was the covenant Israel was to remember, obey, and prepare for its fulfillment.

The transcript explains that God's covenants all boil down to one master covenant made with Abraham and repeated to Isaac and Jacob. Under it, Israel would become a great nation of people, dwell in their own land, and one day God would be their king and government. Israel was to be aware of this covenant and obedient in preparing for its fulfillment. The conditional “if” in Exodus 19:5 shows Israel still had free will under a sovereign God, and faith and obedience become almost synonymous. God also deals with the Jew on both national and personal levels.
