What happens just before the army catches the fleeing Jews?
Just before the pursuing armed force catches up with the rear guard of the escaping Jews, the earth opens in a deep crevice and literally swallows them up. God intervenes, as He did at the Red Sea, swallowing the battalion, regiment, tanks, trucks, and vehicles sent to destroy them.
Les teaches that once the Antichrist gets word that multitudes of Jews are escaping, he sends an armed force—perhaps a battalion or regiment—to wipe them out. But God intervenes. In Revelation's symbolic language, the earth helps the woman: it opens its mouth and swallows the flood, which represents the armed force the dragon sent by decree to destroy those Jews. Just before that battalion or regiment of tanks, trucks, vehicles, and armed forces catches up with the rear guard of the escaping Jews, the earth opens in a deep crevice and literally swallows them up. Les says this is no harder for God than opening the Red Sea to drown the Egyptians. The Jews escape as if they had wings like an eagle, though when Israel left Egypt they simply walked.
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
