Who makes up the escaping remnant from Jerusalem?

It is a mixed remnant of Jews—a cross-section of society including men, older men, working-age men, young mothers, and others. At the midpoint of the Tribulation, they flee Jerusalem after realizing the treaty-maker is their mortal enemy, and God protects and feeds them in the wilderness.

Les teaches that the escaping remnant is made up of Jews in the area of Jerusalem at the midpoint of the Tribulation. He calls them a mixed remnant—men, older men, working-age men, young mothers, and others, a cross-section of society. They suddenly realize the one they trusted, who had signed the treaty three and a half years earlier, is their mortal enemy, so they congregate and flee Jerusalem. Their flight will be like Israel’s exodus from Egypt, requiring miraculous movement, and Jesus tells them to pray it will not occur in winter or on the Sabbath, because present-day Judaism limits Sabbath travel to about a mile or a mile and a half. Les connects this group to Revelation 12, where the escaping remnant of Jews goes to a place in the wilderness and the triune God protects and feeds them; the dragon, Satan, cast out of heaven, persecutes the woman, who is the nation of Israel.
