Where will the fleeing remnant from Jerusalem go at the midpoint of the Tribulation?

At the midpoint of the Tribulation, the remnant fleeing Jerusalem will go to the mountains, thought to be southeast of Jerusalem. Some identify that destination as the ancient city of Petra, though Petra may not be large enough; the southeast direction is likely correct.

Les explains that at the midpoint of the Tribulation, the remnant—a cross-section of Israeli society—will flee from Jerusalem to the mountains, thought to be southeast of Jerusalem. Some believe it could be the ancient city of Petra; Les personally doubts Petra is big enough, but thinks the direction is probably apropos. In Revelation chapter 12, Israel is the woman, and the great red dragon is Satan with seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns, indicating his power. His tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven, which Les ties to Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14, when Satan said he would be like the Most High; evidently a third of the angelic host followed him, the angels Jude mentions who left their first estate. The dragon cast them to the earth and stood before the woman to devour her child as soon as it was born, speaking of Christ born at Bethlehem and Herod's decree to kill the boys.
