Why is the movie The Ten Commandments inaccurate about the Red Sea crossing?

The film portrays a narrow channel, but three to seven million people plus livestock could not have crossed through such a small passage. Scripture says Israel walked on dry land with waters as a wall on both sides; God had to open the sea an amazing distance and move them miraculously faster than a three-mile-an-hour walk.

Les teaches that the movie The Ten Commandments is inaccurate because it shows the Red Sea crossing as a narrow channel. He points out that you could never run three to seven million people, along with all their livestock and herds, through such a narrow passage as the movie depicted. Les is convinced that God not only moved this whole multitude miraculously faster than a normal three-mile-an-hour walk, but also must have opened the Red Sea an amazing amount of distance so that such a large multitude could go through in such a short period of time. Scripture says the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall on their right and on their left. However God did it, and however much He did, we know He did it because Scripture says so. Les also sees the crossing as a picture of salvation, indicating the burial of Christ, with coming out on the other side as resurrection.
