Les Feldick Bible Study

Is salvation something you have to climb a mountain or pay money to get?

No. Salvation is at ground level, not something gained by climbing a high mountain, paying a million dollars, or shaping up. It is not 100 feet up, in a cave, or across a raging river. The Holy Spirit brings a person to walk through the door by faith.

Les explains that the door to the sheepfold was at ground level—not 100 feet up in the air, not down in a cave, and not across a raging river. The analogy is that salvation is always right at ground level. We do not have to climb a high mountain, pay a million dollars, or shape up, which are things so many people associate with God's salvation. The Holy Spirit has been doing His work, and is doing His work, to bring us to the place where we walk through that door by faith.
