Why does it take a lot of faith to believe in the sudden disappearance of millions of people?
It takes a lot of faith because the sudden disappearance of millions is a startling claim that the scoffer finds hard to believe; it must be accepted by believing God's Word that it will happen. For believers it is an exciting prospect, and it will occur because the Word declares it.
Les explains that although he enjoys life, including pastures, cattle, and mowing hay, he loves more the thought that maybe today or tonight he will suddenly be in the realms of glory. He admits it takes a lot of faith, as he and Iris discussed, to believe there will be a sudden disappearance of millions. He notes that if the Lord comes, people on the other side of the globe would have a circuitous run, but whatever. The key is that if you can believe God's Word, it is going to happen. Les understands the scoffer asking how anyone can believe such stuff, because it does take faith. For believers, it is an exciting prospect that could happen before this day, year, or century is over; it will happen because the Word declares it. Paul then says that if this body returns to the earth, in resurrection it will be clothed with a new body fashioned like unto His body from heaven.
