What kinds of people and things does God choose to confound the wise and mighty?

Scripture says God chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, the weak things to confound the mighty, and the base, despised, and things which are not to bring to nothing the things that are. He uses what mankind would never dream of using, so no flesh can glory in His presence.
