Can a person take credit for what God does through them?
No. Scripture teaches that human instruments cannot take credit for what God accomplishes through them, because the excellency of the power belongs to God, not to us. God chooses the foolish, weak, base, and despised things so that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Les explains that all God has left for the human race is left in human instruments so that the excellency of the power may be of God, not of us. Man can never take the credit for anything; it all has to be of God, or it will fall flat on its face. Les turns to 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, where God chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, the weak things to confound the mighty, and the base and despised things, yes, things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are. God uses what mankind would never dream of using for His honor and glory, so that no flesh should glory in His presence.
