Can someone be in church their whole life and still never see that Jesus is the Creator God of Genesis?

Yes. Many people have spent their whole lives in church yet never recognized that Jesus of Nazareth is the same God who created everything in Genesis 1:1. The difference is that this Creator God was manifested in the flesh, and faith rests in the redemption He accomplished.

Les teaches that this truth is foundational, recalling how about twenty-five years ago he laid it out clearly to a living room full of people: Jesus of the cross was the same God who created everything in Genesis 1:1. It blew their minds because they had been in church all their life but had never seen that before. Jesus of Nazareth was the same God of Genesis 1:1, only now manifested in the flesh. So when we put our faith and trust in what He accomplished, we are not talking about just some Jew who grew up in a carpenter shop; we are talking about the Creator Himself, who took upon Himself the work of redemption. Paul likewise defends his apostleship, insisting he is not preaching himself for personal support or fame, but is a bondslave for Jesus' sake.
