What happens to the veil when a person turns to the Lord?
When a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. The covering that was hiding the truth is removed from the heart, so that the gospel is no longer veiled to them. The obstruction that prevented comprehension is lifted, and they can understand.
Les explains that in chapter three, verse fifteen, even to this day when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart, hiding something. Then verse sixteen says, 'Nevertheless, when it, the veil, or the heart rather, when it shall be turned to the Lord, the veil, that which was hiding, shall be taken away.' He brings that same concept up into verse three, where Paul says if our gospel is veiled, something is over it so that hearts cannot comprehend it. So turning to the Lord removes the veil, and the gospel is no longer hidden.
Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
