What happens when the heart turns to the Lord according to 2 Corinthians 3:16?

According to 2 Corinthians 3:16, when the heart is turned to the Lord, the veil is taken away. The covering that was hiding something is removed. The verse states that the veil, or the heart, when turned to the Lord, has that which was hiding taken away, so the hiddenness ends.

Les explains that 2 Corinthians 3:15 describes a veil upon the heart when Moses is read, meaning something has been hidden from them. Then verse 16 gives the remedy: when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil—that which was hiding—is taken away. He carries that same concept into 2 Corinthians 4:3, where Paul says if our gospel is veiled, something is over it, so that hearts cannot comprehend it. The removal of the veil therefore means the hiding is ended and the covering that prevented comprehension is taken away.

2 Corinthians 3:16

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
