Why can we trust completely in Christ's death and resurrection for our salvation?
Because when Christ died and rose from the dead, God was totally satisfied that His finished work was all we needed. Salvation is not earned by legalism or works but stands in grace and liberty, so the death and resurrection provide a complete, trustworthy basis for salvation.
Les teaches that what was done away was the Law, while grace now remains. These are two great contrasts under the same God but two totally different economies: one says, “Thou shalt not, Thou shalt,” while grace calls believers to stand in the liberty wherewith Christ hath saved us. Legalism, in any form, instructs people as to what they must do to merit favor with God, and millions shun the Gospel of God’s grace, saying they must work for it—the devil’s lie. But when Christ died and rose from the dead, God was totally satisfied that this was all we needed, and we can trust it completely.
