Why was the whole system of the Law done away with when Christ finished redemption?

When Christ completed redemption through His death, burial, and resurrection, the whole system of Law was abolished. The Law had been given to Israel to prepare them for Messiah, but they failed in unbelief. God carried out His plan anyway, revealing something far better: salvation by faith because of God's grace, nothing added.

Les explains that the veil remains untaken away when the Old Testament is read, but it is done away in Christ. When Christ finished the work of redemption by His death, burial, and resurrection, the whole system of Law was done away with—it was abolished—because now we have something far better. The Law was given to the nation of Israel to prepare them for the coming of their Messiah, but in their unbelief they failed it from start to finish. God did not stop His plan of redemption because of that; He carried it out anyway. Christ died, rose from the dead, and revealed to the Apostle Paul this whole new concept of salvation by faith because of God's grace, and nothing added.
