Why did Christ redeem us from the curse of the law?
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by being made a curse for us, because it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. This was accomplished so that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.
Les teaches from Galatians 3:13-14 that Christ was made a curse for us to redeem us from the curse of the law. The purpose given is that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ. Les also explains that this book is progressive revelation, meaning God does not reveal everything from the front but keeps adding revelation to revelation. In verse 14, the blessing of Abraham is now extended to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
