What do people become who come to know the Lord through simple teaching?

They become living epistles—changed people whose lives are read by others. As epistles of Christ, they are not written with ink but by the Holy Spirit of the living God on the heart, not on tables of stone, and are known and read of all men.

Les explains that people who have come to know the Lord through simple teaching become living epistles. Using the example of believers who turned from idols to the living God and came out of paganism, he says their changed lives are an epistle written in the hearts, known and read of all men. He further describes them as the epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Holy Spirit of the living God, not on tables of stone, but as believers with the Holy Spirit’s work written on the heart.
