Where was Paul ministering before he went up to Choas?

Paul had been ministering in western Turkey, then called Asia Minor. He traveled from the area of Derbe and Lystra, going throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia. The Holy Spirit forbade preaching in Asia, and after coming to Mysia, he passed by Mysia and came down to Choas.

Les explains that Paul had been ministering in western Turkey, which was then Asia Minor, and he had now gone up to Choas from the area of Derbe and Lystra. Paul had intended to go back to northern Turkey through the area around the Black Sea and then to Asia. When they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the Word in Asia. After they came to Mysia, they intended to go into Bithynia, along the Black Sea, but the Holy Spirit permitted them not. Passing by Mysia, they came down to Choas, where Paul was expecting to meet Titus. Then a vision appeared to Paul in the night, and a man of Macedonia beseeched him, saying, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”
