Where did Paul go to preach when he came to a city?

When Paul came to a city, he went first into the synagogue, and from there probably out into the busy marketplace, where he simply began to approach people with the preaching of the cross, not with oratory, smooth talk, or a big advanced team.

Les explains that Paul did not come with oratory, smooth talk, or a big advanced team getting him ready for big crusades. Instead, Paul entered the city and likely went first to the synagogue, then from the synagogue out into the busy marketplace, where he simply began to approach people with the preaching of the cross. Les also maintains that pastors today should forget gimmicks and programs and just preach the Word again, because that is the way God has ordained the church to grow. God has not ordained gimmicks and programs.
