What route was Paul planning to travel through Asia Minor?

Paul planned to travel around to the northern reaches of Turkey, along the Black Sea, a region then called Bithynia, and then back to Asia. He had arranged to meet Titus in the seaport town of Choas, which was ancient Troy.

Les explains that the intended route was to go on around to the northern reaches of Turkey, along the Black Sea, which at that time was called Bithynia, and then back to Asia. Paul and Titus had agreed to meet in the seaport town of Choas, the ancient city of Troy. Since ancient communication was difficult, Paul had no way of knowing what had happened to Titus. At Choas, Paul says he came to preach Christ’s gospel and a door was opened by the Lord, but he had no rest in his spirit because he did not find Titus. Les notes that the Lord then came to Paul with something contrary to what he had thought he would do.
