Where is Choas located?

Choas is located on the western shore of present-day Turkey, up toward what is today Constantinople or the Dardanelles Straits. It lies in Asia Minor, with the Aegean Sea separating it from Macedonia and Europe. Paul traveled from Choas into Macedonia, as part of his early ministry in that region.

Les explains that Choas is located on the western shore of what is present-day Turkey, up toward Constantinople or the Dardanelles Straits. He notes that Paul's early ministry was in the western half of present-day Turkey, called Asia Minor. The Aegean Sea lies between Turkey and the mainland of Europe, which is Macedonia or northern Greece, with Athens in southern Greece. Paul evidently had made arrangements with Titus, one of his fellow workers in Asia Minor, to meet him at Choas. From Choas, Paul traveled into Macedonia.
