Where was Choas located?
Choas was located on the western shore of present-day Turkey, up toward what is today Constantinople, or near the Dardanelles Straits. It was the place from which the journey went into Macedonia, across the Aegean Sea toward northern Greece. This places it in Asia Minor, on the western edge of Turkey.
Les explains that Choas was on the western shore of present-day Turkey, up toward what is today Constantinople or the Dardanelles Straits. He sets it against the map of the Mediterranean, Turkey, and the Aegean Sea, noting that Paul’s early ministry was in western Turkey, then called Asia Minor. Across the Aegean Sea lay Macedonia, or northern Greece. The context also says Paul had evidently arranged with Titus, one of his fellow workers in Asia Minor, to meet him at Choas.
