How did Paul view the resurrection power of Christ in his trials?
Paul viewed Christ’s resurrection power as the force that kept him through the trials and tribulations of his physical life. Since the crucified Christ had been raised, Paul knew his enemies could take his life but could not end his spirit life, so resurrection power sustained him.
Les teaches that when Christ was arrested and crucified, the eleven scattered and ran for their lives, but after His resurrection their attitude totally changed. They understood that nothing could touch their eternal part, because if the Lord had been resurrected, they would be too. Paul had that same mindset: knowing the crucified Christ had been raised from the dead, he reasoned that men could take his life, so what? They could not end his spirit life. Therefore Paul constantly referred to the resurrection power of Christ that would keep him through the trials and tribulations of his physical life. Les also notes Paul was sustained by the prayers of the saints.
