How did Paul endure beatings and trials?

Paul endured beatings and trials through supernatural reassurance from the Lord Jesus, who appeared to him and communicated with him. These divine encounters compensated for his sufferings, and when he came through beatings, he could remind himself of what he had coming.

Les explains that Paul had supernatural experiences that compensated for all his trials and sufferings. The Lord Jesus appeared to him, as at Corinth when the Lord told him not to give up because He had many people in that place, and on the voyage to Rome Paul knew no life would be lost because God had appeared to him. Les teaches that unlike us, Paul had these supernatural communications. So whenever he came through beatings, he could remind himself of what he had coming. Les also points to Romans 8:18, written about A.D. 60, at least ten years after Paul had a glimpse of glory, showing he wrote with full understanding.
