What did the eleven disciples do when Jesus was arrested and put on the cross?

The eleven disciples scattered and ran for their lives like a flock of quail, because they were seeing what was happening to their master. They did not remain with Him during His arrest and crucifixion; they were not standing by Him.

Les explains that after Jesus' arrest and as He was placed on the cross, the eleven disciples had scattered like a flock of quail and were practically running for their lives because they were seeing what was happening to their master. But after His resurrection, their attitude totally changed. They understood that nothing could touch their eternal part, because if the Lord had been resurrected, they would be too. Paul later had that same mindset, knowing that even if men could take his physical life, they could not end his spirit life.
