How does God comfort believers in tribulation?
The Father of mercies and God of all comfort encourages believers in every tribulation, so they may encourage others in any trouble with the same comfort they receive from God. This remains a constant promise for believers today as they pass through trying and testing times.
Les teaches from 2 Corinthians that Paul writes to the believers at Corinth and in Achaia, greeting them with grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. In verse 4, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort encourages us in all our tribulation, so we may encourage those in any trouble with the same encouragement we receive from God. Les explains that even today, as believers go through trying and testing times, God promises to be a constant encouragement. This also addresses why bad things happen to good people: God can show us that He is sufficient, and He equips us to strengthen others.
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
