Does God keep a record of what believers do on earth?
Yes. God has promised that He is keeping a record of believers' earthly activity. Their labor in the Lord is not in vain, even if rewards do not come in this life. One day they will cash in on rewards in glory, so believers are to run the race for reward.
Les teaches that believers may not reap the rewards of their labor in this life; they may go to the grave poor as church mice, with not very much of this world's goods. But that should not disturb them, because God has not promised that just because they are believers they will drive Cadillacs and live in mansions. Rather, God has promised He is keeping a record of our earthly activity, and one day we will cash in on the rewards in glory. Paul is always teaching that we are to run the race for reward.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
