What happens to the resurrected saints before the rapture?

Before the rapture, the resurrected saints are reunited with their new bodies. Their souls and spirits, which Christ brings with Him, are joined to those bodies. Only after this reunion does the rapture occur, when the living who remain are caught up.

Les explains that the sequence is clear: the resurrected saints are first reunited with their new body, and with their soul and spirit which Christ has brought with Him. Then, and only then, those who are alive and remain are raptured—caught up. He notes that “raptured” comes from the King James phrase “caught up,” and if that word is disliked, one can simply say “caught up.” This will happen suddenly, in a split second, whether a person is driving down the highway or asleep in bed.
