Are the trumpets in Revelation the same as the trump of God at the rapture?

No. Revelation's trumpets are seven angelic trumpets blown by angels, while the trump of God at the rapture is singular and belongs to God Himself. The seven angelic trumpets cannot be the singular trumpet God reserves for calling out the Body of Christ.

Les explains that people try to tie the trump of God in Paul's teaching concerning the rapture with the trumpets in Revelation, which occur around the midpoint. He directs attention to Revelation chapter 8, where seven angels standing before God were given seven trumpets, plural, not the trump of God, singular. Les stresses that these are angelic trumpets, blown by angels, and they are seven and not one. Comparing Scripture with Scripture, he concludes the seven angelic trumpets can in no way be part of the singular trump, not of an angel but of God Himself. God has a trumpet reserved for just this event and this alone: the calling out of the Body of Christ. He also notes the Roman army used the trumpet to put out commands, much like the American cavalry used to.

Revelation 8:2

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

1 Corinthians 15

Why do people connect the trump of God in the rapture with the trumpets in Revelation?

Many well-meaning people wrongly try to tie the 'trump of God' in Paul's rapture teaching to the trumpets of Revelation, even though those Revelation trumpets sound at about the midpoint.

Whose trumpet is sounded at the rapture — an angel's or God's?

The seven angelic trumpets of Revelation cannot possibly be the same as the singular trump of God, because the trumpet at the rapture belongs not to an angel but to God Himself.
