Who blows the trumpets in Revelation, and how many are there?

Revelation chapter 8 shows seven angels standing before God who are given seven trumpets, and the angels blow them. These are angelic trumpets, plural, not the singular trump of God. So there are seven trumpets in number blown by seven angels.

Les explains in Revelation chapter 8, verse 2, that the seven angels standing before God were given seven trumpets, plural, not the trump of God singular. He emphasizes that these are angelic trumpets, and the angels are going to blow them; it is seven and not one. Les contrasts this with 1 Corinthians 15, where the trump of God is singular and belongs to God Himself, reserved for the calling out of the Body of Christ. He also notes that people wrongly try to tie the trump of God in Paul's teaching concerning the rapture with these Revelation trumpets, which occur at about the midpoint. He mentions the Roman army used the trumpet to put out commands, much like the American cavalry.

Revelation 8:2

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
