What hope does a believer have if they die before the rapture?
A believer who dies before the rapture has the blessed hope of resurrection: the natural body is buried, but it will be raised a new life in resurrection power. It is sown a natural body and raised a spiritual body, entering eternity in flesh and bone with the Spirit as life source and eternal life.
Les teaches that if a believer does not live to see the rapture and goes by way of death, there is a blessed hope: the body that is buried will be raised to new life. The whole concept of resurrection is that the body of flesh has to die and then be raised in resurrection power. It is sown a natural body, but it is raised a spiritual body. Believers will not enter eternity in flesh and blood; they will go in flesh and bone, with the Spirit as their life source. Paul says there is a natural body and a spiritual body, and though they are eons apart, they are alike in that outward features remain. The difference is spiritual eternal life instead of the promised three score and ten. Les also points out that since Peter, James, and John recognized Moses and Elijah, we will recognize our loved ones, know everybody, and have full knowledge, knowing them all by name.
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
