How is the Body of Christ the complement and fullness of Christ?

The Body of Christ is Christ's complement and fullness, just as Eve was presented to Adam as his complement and helpmeet. Members of His Body are His inheritance, brought into an even keel with Christ by their position in Him. This glorious relationship exceeds human understanding and is received by faith.

Les explains that because believers are in Christ, God puts them on an even keel with Christ: as Christ is their inheritance, they are His inheritance. The Body of Christ—its members—are the complement and fullness of Christ, using the same word once applied to Eve when God presented her to Adam as his complement and helpmeet. Les says this is beyond human understanding and must be taken by faith as the believer's glorious position. He contrasts that with the average believer thinking salvation is only to escape hellfire; salvation brings a tremendous relationship with Christ Himself. He also stresses salvation is by believing and trusting what God has said, not by repenting, baptism, church joining, or walking the aisle, though those things have their rightful place.
