Why is the Body of Christ called the complement and fullness of Christ?
The Body of Christ is called the complement and fullness of Christ because believers are His counterpart, just as Eve was the complement and helpmeet for Adam. The same word was used concerning Eve when God presented her to Adam, that she might be the complement and helpmeet of the man. Because of our position in Christ, God puts believers on such an even keel with Christ that as He is our inheritance, we are His inheritance. It is far beyond simply being saved to escape hellfire; believers are saved to come into a tremendous relationship with Christ Himself.
