Did Peter and most people today understand the position believers have in Christ?

No. Peter never fully grasped it, and most people today do not comprehend the position that believers of the Gospel have in Christ. That position is already seated in the heavenlies, waiting for the day they will be taken up into the heavenlies and be in union with Christ Himself.

Les teaches that 1 Corinthians 12:13 shows every believer—not just the most spiritual—is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ, whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free. He explains that Peter never got the whole story, and most people today still do not comprehend the believer’s position in Christ: already seated in the heavenlies, waiting to be taken up into the heavenlies and into union with Christ Himself. Verse 27 says believers are the Body of Christ in total but members in particular; they do not lose their identity, because God knows each one by name, not by a number or group. Ephesians 1:20–22 presents Christ as Head, raised and set at God’s right hand in the heavenlies, far above all principality, power, might, dominion, and every name. That is the believer’s position: when He is in heaven, they are in heaven.
