What does Ephesians 1:22-23 say God gave Christ to be over the church?

Ephesians 1:22-23 says God put all things under Christ's feet and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church, which is His Body, the fullness of Him that filleth all anon. The church is the Ecclesia, now the Body of Christ.

Les explains that Ephesians 1 presents Christ as the Head of the Body. Paul writes that God raised Christ from the dead and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenlies, far above all principality, power, might, dominion, and every name named. God put all things under His feet and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the church, the Ecclesia, which is now the Body of Christ. Verse 23 calls the church His Body and the fullness of Him that filleth all anon. Les teaches that 'fullness' means complement: when Christ finally has the Body in His presence, He considers Himself complete. Just as Eve was the completion of Adam, so the Body of Christ will be the completion of Christ Himself. Believers are already seated in the heavenlies, waiting to be taken up into union with Christ.

Ephesians 1:22

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Ephesians 1:23

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
